How do I create a task from a template?
Click New Task, pick a template, choose the client and click Create Task. The template’s checklist is copied into the task.
Who can do this: Admin, Partner, Company SecretaryLast checked: 19-10-2026
Create the task
- Click Tasks in the left menu, then click New Task.
- On the left, find your template. Type in Search template… to find it fast, then click it.
- Choose the Client Entity. This is required.
- Check the Task Name. DueFiler fills it from the template. Add the year or period at the end.
- Set the Priority and the due dates.
- Choose an Assignee if you already know who will do the work. You can also add Watchers.
- Type the Description / Instructions for the person doing the work. This is required.
- Click Create Task.
What you will seeThe new task opens with the checklist from your template.
Good to knowTo create another task straight away, click Create & Add Another instead of Create Task.
Good to know
- The checklist is copied from the template. If you change the template later, tasks you already made do not change.
- DueFiler never chooses the assignee for you. You decide each time.
- Each task is for one client. For the same filing in many companies, make one task for each company.
- No template for this work? You can create a Blank Task instead.
Cannot see this on your screen?
- Your role must be one of these: Admin, Partner, Company Secretary. If it is not, ask your Admin to check your access.
- If your firm’s trial has ended, DueFiler is read-only. You can see everything, but you cannot add or change anything.
