Who can see and do what in DueFiler?
Every person has a role. The three standard roles are Admin, Partner and Company Secretary. Your role decides which menu items and buttons you see.
Who can do this: EveryoneLast checked: 19-10-2026
The three standard roles
- Admin and Partner can do everything in DueFiler. This includes billing, users, roles and settings.
- Company Secretary can work on clients, tasks, documents, DSC, Director KYC, the Compliance Calendar, statutory registers and the Inbox.
- A Company Secretary does not see invoices and billing, users and roles, settings, reports, the audit trail or Master Data & Templates.
Your firm can also make its own roles. Your Admin can give one person extra access, or take away one permission, without changing their role.
Why a menu item may be missing
- Your role does not allow it. Ask your Admin.
- Your firm’s plan does not include it. The menu item then shows a small lock.
- Your firm’s trial or plan has ended. DueFiler becomes read-only. You can see and download everything, but you cannot add or change anything. A banner at the top explains this.
How an Admin changes access
- Click Users in the left menu.
- Find the person. Click Roles to change their role.
- Click Extra Permissions to give or take away one permission for that person only.
Good to knowEvery access change is saved in the audit trail, so you can always see who changed what.
Cannot see this on your screen?
- Everyone can use this. If your screen looks different, ask your Admin.
- If your firm’s trial has ended, DueFiler is read-only. You can see everything, but you cannot add or change anything.
