How do I connect WhatsApp Business?

Open WhatsApp, click Connect WhatsApp and follow two steps. Your firm’s number must be on the WhatsApp Business app. Then you can chat with clients inside DueFiler.

Before you start

  • Your firm’s number must be on the WhatsApp Business app. A normal WhatsApp number cannot be connected.
  • Keep your phone with you, and have a Facebook login ready.
  • It takes about five minutes.

Connect

  1. Click WhatsApp in the left menu, then click Connect WhatsApp.
  2. Choose which WhatsApp your firm’s number is on. If it is on normal WhatsApp, DueFiler shows how to move it to the Business app.
  3. Click Continue with Facebook.
  4. In the Facebook window, choose your number and finish the steps. The window closes by itself.
What you will seeA green message says WhatsApp is connected. Your number appears on the page.

Use the chats

  • The tabs are All, Unread, Not saved and Starred.
  • For a number you do not know, click Save this number. Say whether it is a director or someone who works at a client.
  • When a message needs action, use Create task, Link to task or Not relevant above it.

The 24-hour rule

WhatsApp lets you type freely only within 24 hours after the client’s last message. After that, or to start a new chat, you must send an approved message first.

  1. Click Send an approved message.
  2. Choose the message and fill in any blanks.
  3. Click Send message.
Good to knowNo approved messages in the list? Create them in WhatsApp Manager, then click Update approved messages on the WhatsApp page.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect on the WhatsApp page. Your existing chats stay saved.

Cannot see this on your screen?

  • Your role must be one of these: Admin, Partner. If it is not, ask your Admin to check your access.
  • WhatsApp depends on your firm’s plan. If its menu item shows a small lock, your plan does not include it yet. Ask your Admin.
  • If your firm’s trial has ended, DueFiler is read-only. You can see everything, but you cannot add or change anything.
