How do I upload a document and keep its versions?

Open Documents, click Upload, choose the client and the file. To replace a file later, use New Version. DueFiler keeps every earlier version.

Who can do this: Admin, Partner, Company SecretaryLast checked: 20-10-2026

Upload a document

  1. Click Documents in the left menu. This is the Document Vault.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Choose the Client Entity. This is required.
  4. Type the Document Name, for example Auditor’s Report FY 2025-26.
  5. Choose the File. Choose the Type and add Tags if you wish.
  6. Click Upload.
What you will seeA green message says the document was uploaded. It appears in the list.

Replace a file with a new version

  1. Find the document. Open the ⋯ menu on its row and click New Version.
  2. Choose the new file.
  3. Click Upload Version.
Good to knowThe old file is not lost. Each upload becomes version 1, 2, 3 and so on, with the person and the date.

See the history

Open the row menu and click History. A panel lists every version. Click Download Current Version to get the latest file.

Keep documents in folders

  1. Click New Folder, type the Folder Name and click Create Folder.
  2. To move a document, open its row menu, click Move to Folder and choose the folder.

A folder can be deleted only when it is empty. Your firm’s storage limit applies to all documents together.

Cannot see this on your screen?

  • Your role must be one of these: Admin, Partner, Company Secretary. If it is not, ask your Admin to check your access.
  • If your firm’s trial has ended, DueFiler is read-only. You can see everything, but you cannot add or change anything.
