How do I make a document from a template?

Open Documents and click Generate from Template. Choose the client and the template, fill the fields and click Generate. The new document is filed in the vault.

Who can do this: Admin, Partner, Company SecretaryLast checked: 20-10-2026

Generate the document

  1. Click Documents in the left menu.
  2. Click Generate from Template.
  3. Choose the Client Entity.
  4. Choose the Document Template.
  5. Fill the fields that appear, such as dates, names and amounts. Fields that DueFiler works out are shown but cannot be edited.
  6. Click Generate.
What you will seeA green message says the document was generated. It is saved in the vault for that client.
Good to knowIf you do not see Generate from Template, your firm has no active document templates yet. Ask an Admin to add some.

What to do next

  • Open the document and check it carefully. A generated document is a first draft.
  • Send it for review if it belongs to a task.
  • To change it, upload your edited file as a new version.

Cannot see this on your screen?

  • Your role must be one of these: Admin, Partner, Company Secretary. If it is not, ask your Admin to check your access.
  • If your firm’s trial has ended, DueFiler is read-only. You can see everything, but you cannot add or change anything.
