Every sign-off on record
In DueFiler each task has one person preparing the work and, separately, an approver who signs it off. Approvals, rejections and their comments are recorded on the task, and every business change across the firm lands in an audit trail — so a Partner can always see who did what, and when.
Why firms use it
- Preparer and approver, named separately. You choose the assignee and the approver for each task yourself, with no fixed chain to work around.
- Rejections with reasons. When an approver sends work back, their comment is posted on the task and the preparer corrects it and sends it again.
- Review for individual documents. A single uploaded document can be sent for review on its own, with its own status, without holding up the whole task.
- An audit trail you can search. Changes to invoices, billing firms and other records are logged with the person, the time and exactly what changed.
How it works
- Step 1: Assign the work. Pick who prepares the task.
- Step 2: Send it for approval. Name the approver and send; they approve or reject with a comment.
- Step 3: Keep the record. Comments, versions and status changes stay on the task.
Common questions
Who can see fees and client information?
You decide. Roles and permissions are fully configurable, so a junior can work on their own tasks without seeing retainer amounts or how a client is classified.
What happens when an approver rejects a task?
Their comment is posted on the task. The task itself is left as it was, and whoever raised the request decides whether to fix and resend or reassign.
Do our clients need to log in to DueFiler?
No. Clients keep writing to you by email and WhatsApp, and your team files each message against the right client or task.
