A DSC registry that protects your filings
DueFiler keeps a register of every Digital Signature Certificate (USB token) your firm handles — its validity, who physically holds it, and which portals it is registered on. When a signatory has no valid DSC, filing tasks that need one are flagged and blocked, so a lapsed certificate is caught before a filing deadline, not on it.
Why firms use it
- Validity that cannot go stale. Valid, expiring soon and expired are always worked out from the certificate’s expiry date at the moment you look, never from a status someone forgot to update.
- Custody you can account for. An append-only log records every handover of a token — from whom, to whom, when and why — because custody of a DSC carries personal legal responsibility.
- Catches certificates that cannot sign. A certificate that is Encryption-only is flagged everywhere, even if its expiry date looks fine, because it cannot be used to sign a filing.
- Filings blocked before they fail. Open tasks that need a DSC are set to Blocked when their signatory has no valid, sign-capable certificate, and restored automatically once a valid one is on record.
How it works
- Step 1: Record the application and the issued certificate. Track a DSC from application to issue, with class, type, provider and expiry.
- Step 2: Log who holds the token. Every handover goes into the custody history.
- Step 3: Check portal registration. Record registration per client on the MCA V3, GST, Income Tax, DGFT and ICEGATE portals.
Common questions
What happens to filings when a DSC expires?
Open tasks that require a DSC are set to Blocked with a note on the task, and returned to their earlier status once the signatory has a valid, sign-capable certificate again.
Does DueFiler record who currently holds a USB token?
Yes. Each handover is logged with who gave it, who received it and when; the current holder is the most recent entry.
Does DueFiler also track DIN details?
Yes. The same module covers DIN holders, and the separate DIR-3 KYC tracker follows each director’s KYC due date.
